Agape Kayaking
If you are looking out to get away from the city and enjoying a day of solace amidst coconut trees, a river flowing by with an added thrill of kayaking against picturesque scenery, Agape Kayaking is the place to be.
It is located at Udyavara Village of Udupi Taluk and District. Udyavara is known for its temples. Another attraction is a garment store named Jayalakshmi Silks. People flock here from distant places to buy wedding sarees and ready made garments.
Agape Kayaking is owned and developed by Mr. Richard Machado. Having been born and lived his early life in this place, picking shells on the river bank, swimming, boating, catching crabs and other fish brought him great joy and still do. City bred folk rarely have access to such pleasures in the city and hence he thought of developing this place as a tourist spot so that those who desire, can also enjoy this experience. Presently, the place has a resting tent 20/10 feet and two kayaks with manual pedals.
Each kayak needs two pedallers. Wearing a life jacket is a must for all kayakers before getting into the kayak.
All the necessary permissions have been taken from Grama Panchayat, police department for running this place. Agape Kayaking is approved by the department of Tourism too. All government guidelines will be strictly followed by the owner of this project and the same is expected from all visitors to this place.
In addition to Kayaking we provide our premises for one day outing from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. We have relaxing nets, Joolas (Jokali) a tent for taking rest. Groups can have fun filled games, music and dance. Depending upon the tide levels in the river we take groups to river for picking shells during low tide. We also have a facility of rain shower.
